The diabetes mellitus is a common illness in the United States. It is estimated that over 16 million Americans are already suffering with diabetes, and 5.4 million diabetics are unaware of the disease as well as the symtoms of diabetes they have obtained. The frequency of diabetes has been increased progressively in last two decades and will continue to rise among the population of the United States.

Diabetes mellitus, often referred as diabetes is essentially a group of metabolic diseases in which a person has high blood sugar, either because the body does not produce enough insulin, or because the cells are against of insulin that is produced. The usual symtoms of diabetes are polyuria (frequent urination), polydipsia (excessive thirst) and polyphagia (increased hunger).

Diabetes can be reversed if we strictly follow proper diet, do some exercise and take good medication. Below are some home remedies which are very beneficial in reversing diabetes. They are as follows;

1. The bitter gourd is considered the best remedy for diabetes. Drink at least a tablespoon of bitter gourd juice daily. This will lower blood sugar level in your blood and urine.
2. Having bitter gourd cooked in ghee for a period of three months will reduce the sugar level in your blood by a significant amount.
3. A tablespoon juice of Indian gooseberry mixed with one cup of juice and sour gourd must be consumed once in day for two months. This will allow the pancreas to secrete insulin.
4. Drinking a glass of water with 10 leaves of holy basil, 10 neem leaves and 10 wood apple leaves early morning on an empty stomach allows level of sugar to be under control.
5. Bitter melon gourd or bitter gourd is also useful for curing diabetes. A person with diabetes can have a half-cup of bitter gourd juice regularly.
6. Take a little honey and mix equal quantity of turmeric powder and dried gooseberry powder to it. Consume this solution regularly.
7. Mango also helps you to fight against diabetes. Take about 3-4 mangoes and boil in the water.
8. For people who have higher levels of sugar, must chew 3-4 leaves of jambul (Syszygium cumini) in the morning and dusk. You can also take 3-4 jambul leaves with half glass of water.
9. Dip 60 grams of fresh ripen jambul fruit in 300 ml boiling water. After about half an hour, mash the jambul to make a juice out of it. Then drink this juice three times a day.

You will see positive results when you strictly practice these home remedies which help to reverse the diabetes. At first, you will notice the steady decrease in the frequency of symtoms of diabetes, and later the reversal of diabetes.

Juvenile Diabetes: What is it?

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

Just a decade ago, juvenile diabetes was a rare word to be heard. Also, most of the population was unaware of this disease. But now, juvenile diabetes has become common all over the world. The population which suffers from this disease has also been increasing in its size at rapid pace. This has become a matter of concern to the health experts around the world.

Juvenile diabetes is a result of an autoimmune disorder. This occurs because of a virus that damages the function of beta cell. Hence the body will fail to produce insulin which is important to convert the glucose into energy in the body. The other reason could be a toxic element which turns the immune system against the beta cell or the pancreatic B antigens which looks like a viral protein.

Juvenile diabetes is mostly a hereditary problem rather than being obese. In United States only, about 15 – 20% population is suffering from this disease. It is believed that nearly 15,000 children are diagnosed with juvenile diabetes every year.

Symtoms of Diabetes

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Symtoms of diabetes irrespective of whether it is Type 1 diabetes or Type 2 diabetes are all related to an excess of sugar levels in the blood and if treatment for diabetes is not provided in time it can lead to further complications.

The following typical symtoms of diabetes will be experienced by a person who has diabetes.

-Excessive thirst which is unusual and not related to exercising or other environmental factors.
-Unusually excessive hunger
-Frequent urination
-Tiredness and fatigue even though you may not have had a hectic day
-Sudden weight loss

If the above mentioned symtoms of diabetes are neglected or overlooked it can lead to complications of diabetes, an advanced stage of diabetes and cause physical and neurological problems as follows:
-Numbness and or tingling of the feet and hands
-Wounds that do not heal for long periods
-Heart disease (cardiovascular disease)
-Macular degeneration that causes blurry vision – can lead to blindness
-Persistent yeast infection particularly in women that are hard to cure
-Rough and dry skin that is caused by peripheral neuropathy that harms the circulatory system

Diabetes is not only a burden but if ignored and left untreated complications of diabetes can be life threatening as well.

The general perception about treatment for diabetes however is that it is incurable and that it can be treated only by way of taking expensive drugs and painful insulin injections regularly. But being a patient myself I realized that this is absolutely false, in fact a change in lifestyle is all it takes to bring your diabetes under control and in most cases out of diabetes. Dependency on insulin injections and expensive drugs is bad for you as in the long term you it will not only make you dependent on them but also dig a big hole in your pocket, still worse your life style will compulsorily have to change for the worse to suit your “diabetic” condition.

But if you do as I did and follow Joe’s advice it will not only improve your lifestyle for the good but in a short period make you diabetes free as I am now. For further information on Joe Barton’s life changing diabetes program click here.
