Diabetic Diet Plan for Gestational Diabetic People

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

Gestational diabetes develops in women during their pregnancy. If the treatment is not provided in time, this disease will affect not only them but their babies too. The best treatment is to control this disease with a proper diabetic diet plan.

A proper diabetic diet plan can help to keep the gestational diabetes under control. Hence there is no need to go for any medication or insulin injections. There are many gestational diabetic diet plans which can be modified as per your needs if you have gestational diabetes.

The basic requirements to prepare a diabetic diet plan are the detailed records of meals and blood sugar level readings using a glucose monitor system. Hence, your doctor or dietitian will be able to design an effective diabetic diet plan for you. Now let us have a look at one or two gestational diabetic plans.

Plan1: Your blood sugar level can reach high instantly in the morning, if you have a breakfast which is rich in starch and sugar. A simple solution to this is to have a high protein meal. That meal should include a slice of meat along with a slice of whole wheat toast, and a glass of milk. If you like, you can take a cup of low calorie yogurt instead of milk.

Plan2: This diet plan contains a snack of vegetable sticks with low calorie dip, cottage cheese with some pieces of a fruit. If you do not like these food items in this diabetic diet plan, then you can include whole wheat crackers with peanut butter. This diet plan can be executed in the middle of period between breakfast and lunch.

Like those above, there are other gestational diabetic plans which control this disease without any complication. However, it is very essential to follow the diabetic diet plan without a failure. You can have a look at other gestational diabetic diet plans if you click here.
