Type – 1 diabetes also known as insulin-dependent diabetes or juvenile diabetes is usually diagnosed in young adults and children, however don’t be taken by the name, type – 1 diabetes is of late being increasingly diagnosed in the elderly too.
Type – 1 diabetes is a condition in which the Pancreas is unable to produce the hormone insulin to transfer the Glucose produced in the body to the various cells as a result of which there is severe damage to organs like the heart, kidneys, eyes, nerves and skin.
